1.1. University of Plymouth PhD theses

From 1st October 2010, PhD students have been required to deposit an electronic copy of their PhD thesis to PEARL http://pearl.plymouth.ac.uk. A large number of theses submitted from before this date have also been digitalised and added to PEARL.

Electronic full text PhD theses are stored in PEARL and they can be searched and accessed via PRIMO:

  1. Type in subject keywords and then select "Plymouth University Outputs and Theses" from the drop down menu.
  2. The results list will contain details of both PhD theses and other research  outputs in the PEARL repository. To narrow down the results to  just PhD theses, use the Refine My Results option on the left hand side  and select the “thesis” resource type to show only PhS theses for your search.
  3. Clicking on the title and scrolling to the "Details" tab provides the abstract  and the "View Online" tab links to the electronic full text.

Some theses can be subject to embargos on grounds of confidentiality or other ethical reasons.
